Quadruple Aim is considered the panacea of ailments currently facing healthcare. We are all aware of the healthcare industry slogan for the future. Healthcare 2.0,3.0 or beyond. We need to achieve the Quadruple Aim. Telehealth fits the bill perfectly; to achieve the quadruple aim of improving outcome while decreasing cost. Simultaneously improving patient experience and access while decreasing provider burnout.
Patient experience is enhanced with fast convenient care. Expert specialist at web-side when you need it. Patients do not have to drive, park, find a babysitter or family member to drive them. They feel more empowered and engaged.
This improved patient experience directly leads to Better Outcomes as engaged patients are more compliant. Tele-visits in combination with in-person visits also leads to improved follow-up which creates a cycle of patients’ attention captivated towards their health.
This comes at a significantly Lower Cost as care is delivered patient centered and family-centered. As the provider beams in wherever the patient is not the other way around. Saving time, energy and money. Decreases unnecessary testing, transfers and promises true continuity of care.
All the while improving Provider Satisfaction. We physicians love to take care of the patient and not the paperwork. We are empowered and liberalized when we have more tools and avenues to take care of the patient. Telehealth does just that. Which indirectly decreases cost by increased iteration, decreased turnover and decreased moral injury.
