Welcome to VeeOne Couch! During this time, I felt in my heart that as a behavioral health specialist, I needed to start a behavioral blog/newsletter to benefit my colleagues at VeeOne Health and to you all.

I’m happy to be creating a blog with tips and tricks to support your emotional and mental health during this time. In the future we’re looking forward to adding some wellness challenges too!

Today, I am diving into one of the therapeutic tips. Life can seem chaotic at times or that there is not enough time in the day to accomplish the things we want to.

Overtime, we start to burnout and may feel lethargic, overwhelmed, and irritable.  😔

We try to keep afloat by prioritizing work, family, and home life. What we don’t do is take time to do things we enjoy. This can be as simple as going out for a walk midday or watching our favorite Netflix show.

Take a few minutes out of the week to spend time on a hobby or an activity you have been wanting to do. This is one of the steps to self-care.

Take small steps first, pick one day where you will put on your calendar a day to care for you. It does not have to be an all day thing, but simply 60 minutes of that day to do something for yourself.

Is there a book 📚 you have been wanting to dive into?

A movie 🎬 you have been wanting to watch?

Or an activity 🩰 you have been wanting to do?

Now is the time to plug that in, no matter how busy your schedule is.

Just as we find time to add a meeting into our work schedules, we can also find time to add self-care to our calendars. This is essential to reduce emotional exhaustion.

Remember that to care for others, we must care for ourselves first. ♥  I challenge you this week to do something you have been holding off to do for a while to care for yourself.

What are you going to schedule for yourself this week?
